Art Of The TItle - Title Sequences

The first title sequence I analysed was Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant. The very first noticeable thing within the title sequence is that is uses animated drawing. These drawings link to the font of the text, which starts off with the company, stating 'Universal Pictures Presents'. After, it states 'in association with Relativity Media', stating another production company, then stating who the film is by (Pete Weitz). The font used is a very bold, dark, gothic type of font, which would be associated with the actual film. This is then followed by the actual film name, which is much bigger in comparison to the rest of the listings. The cast list then begins.

Another title sequence I analysed was Forrest Gump. First thing was 'Paramount Pictures Presents', followed by the production behind the film, who the film is by (Robert Zemeckis), the star actor being Tom Hanks, then the film name. The font used is a very formal, straightforward font, which takes up the same position on the screen each time, that being directly in the middle.

Both of these title sequences show that commonly in films, the production company is the first thing that is shown, followed by who the film is by, the film name, or, if a film contains a star actor/actress, that cast name, followed by the film name.
